Things That Can Go Wrong During the ATI TEAS Proctored Exam

Some everyday things can go wrong before or during the ATI TEAS proctored exam. These potential issues were experienced by people who already took the TEAS remotely beforehand. Most of these issues involve technical requirements, so make sure to take note of all these so you can avoid them. Check out everything you need to know about the test in our TEAS Test ultimate guide review.

Getting kicked out from the test multiple times. Some people said that they got kicked out of the test out of nowhere. They had to do the process of logging in, scanning the room, and presenting the ID all over again. This issue can throw off your rhythm and potentially lose you of the allotted time needed for your test.

To avoid this, check that you have all the technical requirements adequately set up. Go over the needed steps days before the exam to know what to expect on the actual test day. Hopefully, you won’t be able to run into any problems like getting kicked out of the exam. We go over this in-depth with step-by-step instructions in our Guide to Taking the ATI TEAS Proctored Exam or watch the video below.

Loading issues on the test. Sometimes, the screen would take a while to load before you can access the actual test. For instance, others experienced a five-minute test before the test button appeared on the screen. They usually encountered this on the sign-in agreement page, which is the last step before taking the test.

In this case, make sure that you are logged in and ready for the test at least 30 minutes in advance. You don’t want to lose any time that’s crucial for you to answer all the questions within the allotted time. Make sure you are ready to go precisely when your start time starts.

The phone is linked to the laptop. If your phone is connected to your computer, it will pop up on the screen whenever you get a phone call, text message, or similar notification. If this happens, it will distract you from taking the test. It may also cause issues with the proctor.

The person who encountered it luckily did not get kicked out of the test. However, it’s still something you don’t want to happen. To avoid this, make sure to disconnect your phone from your laptop.

Distractions during the test. There can be instances where distractions could happen in the background while you take the test. Situations similar to this might make it difficult for you to understand the questions.

To avoid distractions, try your best to get rid of them first. If something is going in with you, try to get into a clear headspace. If you take the test in an environment where you can hear noise, try to set aside a quiet space to be 100% focused on the test.
