GED Practice Test Question: Math

This GED Practice Test math question comes from the geometry section of our GED Online Course. The geometry lesson breaks down circles (circumference, radius, diameter) as well as triangles, calculating measurements, and congruence.

The correct solution is (B) 4.5 because you would need to use the following formula to calculate the radius, Area=Ï€r² and Using 3.14  for Ï€.

The first thing to do when solving this type of problem is plugging in the value of your variables. The problem states the pool has an area of 64 and to use 3.14 for pi (Ï€).

64=3.14r²

Now solve for r by dividing 64 by 3.14 which leaves you with

20.38= r²;

Reduce the exponent and you will get

r≈4.5.
